What I learned in history about Egypt

In today’s essay I will write about what I learn about ancient Egypt. Let’s get started.

I learned that one of the pharaohs named Akhenaten tried to replace their polytheistic religious beliefs (the many Egyptian gods) with monotheism, to believe in only one God. He tried to replace Egyptian gods with one God called Aten, or in other words the sun god. This Pharoh’s original name was Amenhotep IV, but later changed his name to Akhenaten.

Next I learned about a pharaoh named Ramses the great who reigned for approximately 66 years. He was known as a great warrior and signed the worlds first peace treaty with his enemies the Hittites. Not only that, but he had many monuments built, and they can even be seen today.

The Egyptians also created very nice illustrations, they often looked alike. Artist and sculptor’s were expected to follow a formula, and not come up with original ideas, I wouldn’t want to be an artist then, because I would like to come up with my own original ideas, that’s my perspective personally.

Thank you for reading this essay, I hope you enjoyed. Do you know any interesting facts about ancient Egypt? If you do I would love to know. Anyway, bye and see you next time.
